Frequently Asked Questions

What age group do you accept?

We welcome children ages 2.5 to 6 years old. Our programs are designed to support preschoolers at every stage — from early social development to kindergarten readiness.

Where are you located and what are your program hours?

We are located in Sage Hill Quarter in the community of Sage Hill in Northwest, Calgary. We are near the communities of Sage Hill, Nolan Hill, Glacier Ridge, Esker Park, Starling, Sherwood, Kincora, Hidden Valley, Panorama, Ambleton, Evanston, Carrington, and Livingston.

We currently operate as a half-day preschool with two program options:

Morning session: 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM or afternoon session: 12:30 PM – 3:30 PM

Families can choose the session that best fits their schedule and select classes that run 5 days a week (M-F), 3 days a week (MWF), or 2 days a week (TTh).

What is included in your program?

Our play-based curriculum integrates STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) and early literacy with art, music, and movement. Children explore hands-on experiments, creative projects, and story-based learning designed to spark curiosity and critical thinking.

Are meals or snacks provided?

No, families are asked to send a nut-free snack each day. We encourage healthy, easy-to-open options to support independence and self-help skills.

How do you communicate with parents?

We believe in open, ongoing communication. We use the Lillio app for parent communication. Families receive regular class updates, photos, and progress notes, and our teachers are always available to discuss your child’s experience or growth.

Does your preschool run all year?

Yes, we are a year-round preschool that operates from September to August.

Do you accept registrations mid-year?

Yes, as a year-round preschool we accept registrations at any time through out the year (depending on space availability).

What are your class sizes and teacher-to-child ratios?

We maintain small class sizes to ensure personalized attention. Our ratio meets or exceeds Alberta Child Care Licensing standards.

How do you support children’s transitions and independence?

We use gentle routines, visual cues, and age-appropriate expectations to help children feel confident and capable. Our teachers work closely with families to ease transitions and encourage independence at each child’s pace.

Do you offer government subsidies or funding?

As a half day preschool (program that provides less than 4 hours of child care per day) we are not eligible for the same “$15/day” rate used in full-day daycare programs.

How do I register or book a tour?

You can visit our Book a Tour page to schedule a visit at a time that works best for your family. Our team will walk you through the classroom, answer your questions, and help with the registration process.
