Little Scientists Preschool ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it, in line with Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

1. Who we are

Little Scientists Preschool is a licensed Full Day Preschool at 106 - 335 Sage Valley Common NW, Calgary, AB T3R 1T8.

2. Information we collect

  • Enquiries and tour requests: parent or guardian name, email, phone number, your child's age, preferred start date and tour time. We collect this through our website forms, email, phone, and forms on Facebook and Instagram.

  • Enrollment: information needed to enroll and care for your child, such as names, date of birth, contact and emergency contacts, and details you choose to share about your child's needs. We collect this through our enrollment application on the Lillio platform and paper forms.

  • Website use: basic technical information such as pages visited, device and browser type, collected through cookies and similar tools on our website, including the Meta Pixel.

3. How we use it

  • To answer your questions and arrange tours

  • To process applications, manage enrollment and care for your child

  • To meet our obligations under Alberta child care licensing and funding programs

  • To send you updates about our program (you can opt out at any time)

  • To understand how people use our website and to measure and improve our advertising

We only use your information for these purposes, or as required or allowed by law.

4. Photos of children

We only use photos or videos of children on our website, social media or in advertising with the written consent of a parent or guardian. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

  • Service providers that help us run our program, such as our website host (Squarespace), our child care management platform (Lillio), and Meta Platforms (Facebook and Instagram) for forms and advertising. They may only use it to provide services to us.

  • Government bodies where required, such as Alberta child care licensing and funding programs.

  • Others where required or allowed by law, or in an emergency involving a child's health or safety.

6. Service providers outside Canada

Some of our service providers, including Squarespace and Meta, may store or process personal information outside Canada, mainly in the United States. That information may be subject to the laws of those countries. To ask about this, contact us using the details in section 10.

7. Cookies and advertising

Our website uses cookies, including the Meta Pixel, to understand visits and show relevant ads on Facebook and Instagram. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and manage ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram settings.

8. How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and tour information for up to 2 years if you don't enroll. We keep enrollment records as long as needed for our programs and as required by Alberta regulations, then destroy them securely.

9. How we protect it

We use reasonable physical, electronic and administrative safeguards, including locked storage for paper records, password-protected accounts, and access limited to staff who need it.

10. Your rights and contact

You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you, or withdraw consent for its use (which may affect our ability to provide care). Please send requests to:
